Marriage
So I have something to say, I know that love just happens. You don’t know when or where you’ll find it. But I’m 24 years old, most of my friends are around the same age, 22-26. So many of them are engaged or married and some even have kids. An ex of mine got engaged and she had the nerve to ask me to be in the wedding party, but that was news 5 months ago. What has me going now is a friend of mine just got engaged today. She’s 23 and just started seeing this person about 3 to 4 months ago. I know a lot of people move quickly but this is insane. In this case, they live on opposite sides of the country and have maybe spent a combined 3 weeks in the same location together over that time. And now they’re engaged.
My post yesterday said I am ready and that changes are coming. That was in regards to relationships for me. Yesterday I was ready to stop fooling around and start looking for a serious relationship but after today I have mixed feelings. I’m young, why do I want to settle down? I have most of my life still ahead of me and there are so many things I want to do before I have someone else to think about besides me. Maybe this is just pushing me to actually move up to Canada where the majority of my friends there are actually still acting how I think people our age should act. I just don’t know what to think anymore.
Does anyone else think this recent engagement is crazy or is it just me?
